Journey starts with Histria, the oldest citadel on Romania territory founded as Greek Colony on the coast of Black Sea in 630 BC that has flourished for 12 centuries. From 1st century AD Histria came under Roman domination. During the Roman period from the 1st to 3rd centuries AD, temples were built for the Roman gods. The bay nearby citadel has transformed into a lake during time, the Sinoe Lake. Nowadays we can admire ruins of greek temples, paved streets, houses of inhabitants from the Roman period and in the center of city one of the biggest Christian basilicas from region since 6th century AD.
Next point of the tour is Enisala fortress, built by the Byzantine Imperial power and the Genovese trading one around 1270 AD on the shore of Razelm lake, a Black Sea bay on that times. During the reign of Mircea cel Batran, the citadel fell into the control of Wallachia, being included in the defense system. At the end of his reign, in 1417, the fortress was conquered by the Ottoman Empire.
The trip continues with a traditional lunch and local wines in the beautiful resort of Enisala village, where you can admire the superb view of the lake Babadag.
Third fortress Argamum is rising on Dolosmanu Cape. The citadel was founded like a Greek colony around 7th century BC with initial name Orgame. In the first century AD, it was included under Roman domination.
