Constanta Casino is the most important Art Nouveau building in Romania.

It was built in 1910 after plans of Daniel Renard, a romanian architect that studied in Paris. After returning in the country Renard promoted the ideas of the new modernist current. Representative for Art Nouveau is the curving, often asymmetrical line that ends suddenly with fine, elegant decorations. Iron and glass almost completely replace traditional romanian wood carpentry.
